In 2017 it was estimated that 284 million people had some kind of anxiety disorder. For some, this stress causes our minds to go into overdrive, questioning and overthinking our every choice. For others, their minds seem to have gone on vacation, resulting in brain fog, absent mindedness and memory loss.
Both are a sign of unmoderated stress on the nervous system as our bodies go into fight/flight/freeze.
But there is good news! There is something we can do to not only get peace with our mind as it is right now, but build it's resilience for the future.
Meditation helps us to let go of overthinking or brings our awareness back into the room if we have drifted off. Used correctly, meditation can be a wonderful tool to bring about inner calm and outer harmony.
