Honouring grief

Updated: Sep 13, 2022

Many are finding the passing of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is stirring up emotions and grief of other loved ones no longer with us.

In any circumstance, it is totally ok to turn off the news and go through life at your own pace.

Whilst it is the media's job to keep you updated, it is our job to engage with those services as little or as much as it suits.

Being aware of your inner world and your response to things can help you to make decisions that prevent overstimulation and feel right for you.

I trust that if you are affected by Queen Elizabeth's passing, you are being extra kind to yourself and taking things slowly.

It is a beautiful thing to feel our experiences fully.

In my experience, it is better to feel something fully once, than half feel it a number of times.

Slow, steady breathing can help big emotions pass, as can drawing, creative writing or going for a walk.

If you need someone to talk to, it is safe space to reach out for support here.
