How Confident About Reiki Are You?

I ponder, a lot! And one of the things I found myself pondering recently was how important confidence is when it comes to Reiki treatments.

For me, that confidence comes in two forms:

1) That Reiki is an effective complimentary approach to addressing health issues.

In Japan, at the height of it's popularity, hands on healing was sometimes the only medical intervention available. There are stories of people curing tuberculosis, addressing a heart attack and helping with difficult births with only Reiki treatments - usually for several hours, sometimes for several days.

Modern medicine means we have much quicker and safer ways to treat illnesses, but it doesn't mean that Reiki treatments can't be useful alongside the modern approach. I don't believe it has to be either or. In fact, I quite like the idea that by applying Reiki to our life, we're naturally drawn to the most effective interventions. Furthermore, because I generally see illness as a representation of our mental state and/or our carried trauma, by applying Reiki we can work on the cause to improve the chances of the medicine working first time and the issue being dealt with and not returning.

2) Confidence in our ability to make a difference. Lack of confidence is one of the primary issues I see in my clinic, and it's pretty common amongst students too. Somehow we have created a society of unconfident people, which is potentially worsened by how much we criticise, judge and blame and comparisons to others on social media.

A lack of confidence will stop you from offering a treatment to someone that would potentially benefit if you were open to the idea that you could help.

The answer here is, you'll never know how effective Reiki and your delivery of it is until you try. This is one of the reasons I created the 7th November Reiki Day. The BEST way to increase confidence in the benefits of Reiki and your ability to help others is to do Reiki.

This day will be 5 hours of immersion in the practice of Reiki from meditations and breathing exercises, to self-treatments and treating others. It's the PERFECT way to build confidence and make you more likely to practice in the future.

The event is taking place in a beautiful converted Victorian church which has been picked specifically for its light and airy space. There is free parking close by and a wonderful and enriching group of people that would like to spend the day with you doing nurturing energy work as practicing Reiki. Will you be joining them? 💜
